How the incubator works

Heavy Duty Builders acts as a pre-filter and preparation ground for the top programs in the Solana ecosystem. It’s free for founders, with no equity taken upfront — the goal is strengthening the ecosystem, not extracting from it. There’s no dashboard to learn and no separate tool to install; the whole process runs on top of your email. Here’s what actually happens after you apply.

You apply once

You fill out the application wizard at the apply link. One active application per team at a time — if you’re mid-review, that’s the one that counts. Take your time with it; a considered application that takes an extra day beats a rushed one, since quality matters more than speed here.

Then it’s a conversation

There’s no portal to check and no login to remember. Once you submit, a reviewer replies to your application within a few days. If they have follow-up questions, those arrive as replies on the same email thread — and you answer the same way, by replying. The whole review happens over email, end to end, and every step of it is visible in the thread you already have.

What we’re reviewing for

Reviewers are weighing the same qualities on every application: specificity, evidence, and genuine Solana fit, read honestly rather than for hype. The same standards apply whether it’s the first pass or a second reviewer taking a closer look. For the full picture, see the primer on what makes an application strong, and the question-by-question guide for what each specific question is asking.

Where it leads

Teams that graduate get referred onward to partner programs — names like Colosseum and AllianceDAO, and the broader Solana ecosystem beyond them. That referral carries weight because it carries our vetting behind it, which is also why the bar to get there is deliberately high: we only refer teams we believe have a real shot, and staying selective is what keeps that referral meaningful for the teams that earn it.
